Edward E. Matsko, “39”, of Norvelt, passed away on June 27, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of passion and dedication, having spent his life as a skilled mechanic. Edward lived and breathed cars, participating in many regional car shows for which he won many 1st place awards and dedicating 55 years to the thrill of drag racing in class racing with his beloved Chevy A-Go-Go in both the NHRA and IHRA. His driving skills on the track earned him numerous awards and the honor of being inducted into three Hall of Fames. He held numerous class records.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Elizabeth Matsko; brothers John, William, Victor, Joseph, and Richard; sisters Virginia and Helen; and brother-in-law Paul Bash.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Isabel; special niece Lori (Lew) Stolitca; nephews Scott (Jenn) Bash and Chris (Heather) Bash; and many other cherished nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Terry Riehle, and Kathy Bash.
Family and friends will be received from 2-8 pm on Wednesday at HOFFER WILT FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mount Pleasant Rd., Norvelt, and again on Thursday from 10 am until the time of funeral services at 11 am.
