Emerson E. Fligger, 87, of Acme passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014. Born May 27, 1927 in Armbrust, he was a son of the late Martin and Margaret (Ritter) Fligger. Prior to retirement, he was a dairy farmer. Emerson was a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Acme. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Bill and Glenn Fligger, sisters Effie Allen, Edna Shetler, Viola Fligger, Mabel Kopczak and Alberta Fligger. Emerson is survived by his wife of 64 years Geraldine (Keller) Fligger, daughter Darlene Laymon and husband John of Normalville, grandchildren Joshua (Bethany) Laymon of White, Kristina (Dan) Olack of Normalville, two great grandchildren Zachery and Tyler and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his family. Family and friends will be received 5:30 -8:00 p.m. Friday and 10 -11 a.m. Saturday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Norvelt, 15674 where his funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor D. Keith Solomon officiating. Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Kecksburg.
