Jeffrey Ruff

Jeffrey P. Ruff, 62, of Scottdale, passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born on January 14, 1963 in Mt. Pleasant. A son of the late Charles and Bonnie Ruff.

Jeff was a longtime truck driver and mechanic, known for his strong work ethic and hands-on nature. A true hard worker, he took pride in his abilities and spent many hours tinkering in the garage, always working on projects and fixing just about anything that needed attention.

He especially enjoyed tractor pulling with his son and grandson, taking motorcycle rides wherever the open road led, and spending time with his grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Jeff loved sharing stories from the "good old days" and was a big fan of Johnny Cash and John Wayne, along with classic television shows such as The Waltons, MASH*, Gunsmoke, The Andy Griffith Show, and The Three Stooges.

Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Shelley Ruff; his daughter, Leslie Hay and her husband Andy, who Jeff loved just as one of his own children; his son, Jeff Ruff Jr.; and his grandchildren, Shane Hay and Savannah Hay; his step-daughter, Kelley Koring; step-grandchildren Nevaeh Koring, Jasmine Koring, Daniel Jay Koring, and Hazel Puzak; his nephew, Bobby Setliff; and his cousin, Donna Lohr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Grace "mom" Ruff, who played a special role in his upbringing, his uncle, Elmer Ruff, sister-in-law Brenda Setliff, great aunt Mary Lohr, and great uncle Guy Lohr.
