Joann “Josy” Walton, 78 of Norvelt passed away very peacefully, Wednesday, September 21, 2016 in her home. Born June 10, 1938 in Norvelt, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Zsolcsak Whisdosh. Josy was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church, United, where she was involved in the Catholic Daughters of America and the Alter Society. Prior to retirement, she worked in the Addressograph Department at West Penn Power. The last remaining of her family, Josy was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Catherine Crawford and Elizabeth “Betsy” Prevenslik. She was a loving wife of 58 years to her husband John “Herb” Walton, III as well as a loving mother to their three children John Robert Walton (Debra), Joseph Edward Walton (Donna) both of Mt. Pleasant, and Lori Walton Ritting of Green Lane, PA. Josy is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Dr. Jeremy Walton, Joshua Walton, Jessica Walton, Joseph Walton Jr, and Jennifer Walton all of Mt. Pleasant, and Allison Ritting and Megan Ritting of Green Lane. In addition, she is survived by nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt. At 2 p.m. Sunday, the CDA and Rosary Altar Society of St. Florian’s will pray the rosary in the funeral home. Her funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Florian Catholic Church, Rev. John A. Sedlak officiate, with transfer prayers at 9:15 in the funeral home. Interment to follow at St. Florian Cemetery.
