Matthew D. Hohman, 58, of Acme, passed away, Tuesday May 6, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 5, 1966, in Greensburg, Pa, the son of Paul Franklin Hohman and Janet (Heasley) Otto. He graduated from Hempfield High School in 1984 and was owner of M.D.H. Plumbing & Heating. Matt was a member of the Derry Rod and Gun Club and Norvelt Golf Club.
He was hard-working, quick-witted and made friends everywhere he went. Matt loved to make people laugh, ice cream, classic country music, watching westerns, The Waltons, and The Andy Griffith Show.
His true passions were golfing with his family and friends, hunting on the farm and out west. Matt was a skillful woodworker and made beautiful things out of wood. He enjoyed working on the family farm and playing with his beloved dog Molly, but most of all he loved his family. Matt leaves behind family and many friends whom he loved and who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father Paul Franklin Hohman. In addition to his mother Janet (Fred) Otto,he is survived by his loving wife Arlene M. Hohman, sons Joshua, Carl (Cassie) Thompson, and Steven (Ashley) Thompson, sister Connie (Dwight) Dunn, several nieces and nephews and siblings Frank, Dennis, Deanna. His best friends and true brothers at heart were Tom Hemminger, Dave Geier, and Rich Logan.
Family and friends are welcome from 4 until 8pm on Monday May 12, 2025 at HOFFER WILT FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt, where funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday May 13, 2025 by Matt's brother-in-law Pastor Dwight Dunn. Expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at hofferwilt.com
