Richard Alan Seanor, 73, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones after a long battle with cancer.

Born on April 14, 1953, Richard lived a life defined by hard work, service, family, and loyalty. A Vietnam Era United States Army veteran and graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Richard approached life with intelligence, curiosity, and a keen eye for detail.

Throughout his career, Richard worked for PPG Industries, Lucent Technologies, as a truck driver, in hospital security, and ultimately retired from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board's Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores. He was a proud member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union and remained actively engaged in civic and political affairs throughout his life as a dedicated member of the Democratic Party.

Richard was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan and enthusiastically followed college football, especially Penn State, his alma mater, as well as the University of Pittsburgh. He enjoyed traveling, road trips, and discovering new places, but nothing mattered more to him than his family. First and foremost, Richard was a provider and family man who took great pride in caring for those he loved. He had a special affection for children and animals, was keenly observant of the world around him, and loved with his whole heart. His family will remember his steadfast support, loyalty, generosity, and the deep love he carried for those closest to him.

Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Colleen Adele Seanor (née Tarr); his parents, Elmer E. Seanor and Jane L. Seanor (née Yarnell); his mother-in-law, Hazel E. Jerson (née Raling); his brothers, Elmer E. Seanor Jr., Clyde T. "Tom" Seanor, Gary L. Seanor, and Walter H. Seanor; his sister-in-law, Patricia I. "Patty" Seanor (Harrold); his nephew, David B. Seanor; and his niece, Cynthia "Cindy" S. Seanor.

He is survived by his daughters, Christine M. Davenport (née Seanor), of Greensburg, and Sara J. Seanor-Bush and husband Casey K. Bush, of Greensburg; his grandchildren, Ariana N. Walsh (née Seanor) and husband Damien D. Walsh, of Pittsburgh, Jordan C. Seanor and wife Jennifer R. Seanor (née Tamuschy), of Mt. Lebanon, Nicholas T. Thompson, of Greensburg, Dominic D. Davenport, of Greensburg, Aurora E. Seanor; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his father-in-law, Donald D. Jerson, of Norvelt; his brother-in-law, Donald J. "Jeff" Jerson and wife Nancy, of Norvelt; his sisters-in-law, Jennifer Stroka (Jerson) and husband Eric, of Mt. Pleasant, and Judi B. Seanor, of Greensburg; and Helen Stombaugh, of Greensburg; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and former coworkers.

Among those mourning his loss is his longtime friend and former coworker, Jon Atkinson, of Mt. Pleasant, whose friendship meant a great deal to him throughout the years.

In accordance with Richard's wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. A private family gathering celebrating his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brylee's Journey. Richard was a longtime supporter of charitable causes benefiting children battling cancer, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and believed strongly in helping children and families facing difficult circumstances. Those wishing to honor his memory are invited to support Brylee's Journey, the CaringBridge page established for the daughter of his longtime friend and former coworker, Jon Atkinson.
