Ruby Hood

Ruby Hood, 92, of Mt. Pleasant Township, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015. Born December 19, 1922 in Connellsville, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Alice (Baker) Nicholson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Hood in 1968, a son Donald, and all 9 of her siblings. She is survived by her two daughters, Peggy (Thomas) Zavatsky and June (Sam) Trout, grandchildren Pam Zavatsky Jordan, Sam "Butch" Trout, Angela Zavatsky Barker, Sandi Zavatsky McClain, Allen Trout, Kerry Trout; 13 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; plus nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., Friday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME 2245 MT. PLEASANT RD., NORVELT, 15674, where her service will begin at 10 A.M. Saturday with Pastor Keith Solomon, officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Bullskin Twp.
