Sara Faye Garlets, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, in Cape Coral, Florida, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born on June 9, 1942, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, Sara was the daughter of the late Floyd A. Trout and Sara E. Trout.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 19 years, John Garlets Jr., who passed away on September 5, 1983.
Sara was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School and later earned her Bachelor's in Accounting from Seton Hill University.
She worked in sales at Levin Furniture in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, and later worked as a tax professional with H&R Block, where she built lasting relationships with clients through her kindness and care. Sara lived a life centered on love, kindness, selflessness, and faith. She found great joy in spending time with family and friends-traveling, camping, and playing games. Her travels took her to all 50 states. She especially loved spending time in Florida and never passed up the chance to find a great bargain or indulge in a sweet treat.
A devoted Christian, Sara was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Connellsville, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Sara is survived by her brother, Thomas (Brenda) Trout; her children, Michele (James) Bertoline and John Garlets III; and her grandchildren, Kayla, Garrett, Zachary, Courtney (Andrew), Breanna, and Vincent. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Levi and Gracie; her nephews, Matthew (Allie), Douglas (Marissa), and Ryan; and numerous great-nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday at Hoffer Wilt Funeral Home, 2245 Mount Pleasant Rd., Norvelt, PA 15674 and Tuesday from 10 until the time of funeral services at 11am. Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
In Sara Faye's memory, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Assembly of God in Connellsville, 1316 S Pittsburgh St, Connellsville, PA 15425.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Cape Coral Hospital for their compassionate care. Sara's warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
